About Our Community Works

Our Community Works, a program that supports the ministry of Our Community Farm, has the tools, crews and prices that are right for you!

Our Community Works began back in 2007, when long-time OCP Board Member, Jason Wagner, decided to take a chance, quit his reliable construction job, and tackle this new idea that would hopefully help folks find work, job skills, sobriety, and mentorship.

Jason still leads crews today. OCW now works with people in the farm program to provide work, mentorship, skills, and recovery. And OCW customers still enjoy the workers and the work that gets done.

Jason and his wife, Jenny, are living at Our Community Farm where they participate in the recovery and discipleship ministry there while continuing to give leadership to Our Community Works.

Our commitment:

We are committed first and foremost to providing good and meaningful work for our employees within a loving and honest environment. Secondly and essentially, we are committed to providing quality services at competitive market prices for our valued customers. We also commit ourselves to sustainable practices with regard to our local economy and creation.

Our employees:

Many of our employees are people who inhabit the margins of our society. We have found that this is the case for many and varied reasons, some of which include abuses such as drug and alcohol, and others due to abuse suffered. We humbly and simply seek to provide an alternative environment in which they can participate and work. We want to be transparent about this fact with you, our potential customers, in order to allow you to make an informed choice when hiring us.

Types of work:

The main work of OCW is that of the growth and well-being of our employees.  We are equipped primarily to do landscaping work (mulching, mowing, yard cleanup, stonework, etc.).
