OCP Re-opening Celebration
OCP invited the community to hear our new plan for the community center and farm on Saturday, October 8th at Community Mennonite Church.
With the generous help of the community, OCP has provided three meals a day, seven days a week to “anyone in the world”; daily and weekly classes and activities and recovery meetings; Our Community Works, a program that helps folks find work, job skills, sobriety, and mentorship; and Our Community Farm, a work-recovery program for those who need help overcoming unheathly addictive patterns. After being open 3 years, OCP has taken the month of September to reevaluate what we do and to make new plans for the future.
The event included a delicious dinner at 6pm, donated by Chef Jay Vetter at JMU and cooked by the OCP Kitchen Team, followed by an informational program describing our reopening plan.
In addition to announcing the new plan for OCP, introduced our new Executive Director, Philip Fisher Rhodes, to the community.
